Seasonal Stories

Run, run as fast as you can! You can’t catch me; I’m the Gingerbread Man!

We’ve started the second half of the autumn term enjoying the story of The Gingerbread Man.

Did you know that the first version of the story appeared in May 1875!!!

We’ve been bringing the tale to life through storytelling, role play, baking, and lots of creative activities all helping to build language, count and master fine motor skills — all while having plenty of fun chasing that cheeky Gingerbread Man!

As we get closer to Christmas, we’ll be sharing The Christmas Pine by Julia Donaldson. Through this lovely festive story, children will explore the magic of Christmas with sparkly crafts, sensory play and discussions about kindness, giving, and looking after our environment.

To get ourselves in the Christmas spirit, we will be taking some of the children to Dane End Christmas Tree Farm where they will help pick the best tree for the pre-school, ready for decorating. And, for the first time ever, we’ll be holding our Christmas concert at night, singing carols around a Christmas tree with mulled wine and mince pies.

We have now finalised the fundraising total for our Dolly Bailey night and are proud to announce that we raised a staggering £2200!!!

We couldn’t have done this without the support that we received from parents and villagers attending the event, so again, a huge heartfelt thank you.

Monies raised will go partly towards new computers that are desperately needed due to their age; new re-sources for the Pre-school and games for Breakfast/After-school Club and the cutting back of the overhanging trees in our garden area.

Please find below details on our next fundraising event which will be our 2026 Tipple Off !!!!!!
